A member of Parliament has said that Putin’s upcoming visit to Iran is important because the two countries are working to promote their relations.

The lawmaker, Abolfazl Amouei, said in an exclusive interview with ILNA that the upcoming visit of the Russian president to Iran is an important visit.

Referring to the upcoming visit of Russia’s President, Vladimir Putin, to Iran, he said that this is an important visit because we are at a point where we are promoting the relations between Iran and Russia.

He also added that another reason for the importance of this visit is that Russia has increased its attention to its southern borders in order to use the trade routes there.

The seventh summit meeting of Astana peace process guarantors will be held in the presence of presidents of the three countries – Iran, Russia, and Turkey – in the Iranian capital of Tehran on Tuesday evening.

He also said that Putin’s visit to Iran has nothing to do with Biden’s recent visit to the region.

Turkey and Russia are our neighbors and paying attention to neighboring countries are one of the priorities of Iran’s new government, he said, adding that we expect that this trip will help the promotion of the two countries' relations more than before.
