Diako Hosseini said that the West is trying to use the IAEA as a leverage to bargain in negotiations or to design alternative political solutions against Iran.

Concerns about the technical aspects of Iran's nuclear program automatically escalate when political talks fail or stall, Hosseini, an expert on Iran, told ILNA.

“The West is trying to use this leverage to bargain in negotiations or to design alternative political solutions,” he added.

He continued that the IAEA is preparing to enter a new phase, one of which could be to take Iran's case to the Board of Governors and eventually the Security Council.

Evaluating the Israeli Prime Minister's new media campaign against Iran's nuclear program, Hosseini said, "There are different views on the JCPOA inside Israel; Some Israeli officials believe that the Iran 2015 deal could be a good way to halt Iran's nuclear program, at least in the short term, and another part of the Israeli political and security community has a completely different view.”

He added that "but the voice of stopping the JCPOA talks is louder in this regime.”
