Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian said that Iran cannot accept to be threatened by the US, the Zionist regime, terrorists and separatist elements through its borders, and that its security is endangered.

Amir Abdollahian made the remarks in a meeting with his visiting Iraqi counterpart Fuad Hussein here in Tehran on Wednesday.

He described strengthening trade relations with Iraq as one of the two countries' top priorities.

He stressed issues such as facilitating trade at border crossings, one-way transportation and the finalization of the Basra-Shalamcheh railway.

He emphasized facilitating Iranian and Iraqi pilgrims’ travel and called for facilitating the Iranian pilgrims’ travel to holy shrines by road.

Meanwhile, Hussein termed the relations between Iran and Iraq as intertwined and described Iran as a loyal neighbor.

Iraq continues to play a constructive role in establishing peace in the region and trying to strengthen dialogue between the regional states.

The security of Iran and Iraq is interdependent, and Iraq does not allow its territory to be a threat against its neighbors.

The two sides also elaborated on the progress in the Vienna talks, the issues of Afghanistan, Syria, Ukraine and Yemen and developing relations between Iran and the Persian Gulf states.
