Saudi Arabia should participate in talks with Iran seriously: Expert

An expert on the region said that Iran declared to Saudi Arabia that it must not bring the issues that have not related to the mutual relation to the negotiation table.

Reza Mirabian, an expert on the region, said in an exclusive interview with ILNA that the negotiations between Iran and Saudi Arabia at the Iraqi side's initiative, more than anything will carry prestige and political position for Baghdad that was able to host this important meeting.

Responding to a question about the importance of Iran-Saudi talks for Baghdad, he said that reducing tensions between these two countries is of high importance to Baghdad.

Commenting on the two month ceasefire between the Arab coalition and Ansarullah in Yemen, he said, “We hope that this ceasefire will have an effect on the talks between Iran and Saudi Arabia.”

He said that Iran declared to Saudi Arabia that it must not bring the issues to the negotiation table that are not related to the bilateral relations.

“We hope that Saudi Arabia will participate in the talks seriously and with a clear agenda.”
