Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian in a phone call with his Emirati counterpart Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan described Zionists as the cause of insecurity in the region.

He described bilateral relations as progressing, saying that good meetings and consultations have been held between the Iranian and Emirati officials.

He termed the activation of bilateral relations committees on agreed issues and exchanging delegations to be effective in strengthening bilateral relations, IRNA reported.

There are no restrictions on developing all-out relations, he said.

The two sides stressed the importance of developing private sector cooperation.

Regarding the Yemeni crisis, he welcomed establishing a temporary ceasefire in Yemen and expressed hope for lifting the humanitarian siege of Yemen and establishing political talks between all Yemeni sides.

He lauded commonalities between Iran and the UAE, saying that the Zionists are the root of insecurity in the region.

He referred to the presence of the Zionist regime in the region as a threat to all the regional countries, urging the two sides to try to prevent the causes of the crisis.

Meanwhile, Al Nahyan hoped for developing bilateral ties with Iran more than ever.

Referring to the two countries’ common interests in developing bilateral relations in various fields, he called for exploring opportunities for joint cooperation.

Commenting on the regional developments, he said that Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's visit to the UAE and establishing a temporary ceasefire in Yemen have provided an opportunity for all parties to progress and avoid escalating tensions.

He stressed that the UAE will not allow any sabotage or provocative actions from its territory against the neighboring countries.
