The head of Iran's Atomic Energy Organization (AEOI) said the main challenge of the arrogant powers of the world with Iran is its sovereignty and that the nuclear issue, human rights, and democracy do not really matter.

Aliakbar Salehi said the sanctions are imposed on Iran due to the fact that the logic of today's world is bullying.

Referring to the fact that the most pivotal work of AEOI is to build power plants, Salehi noted that Iran needs 20k to 30k megawatts of power out of nuclear plants, the capacity of which must be created in the country.

Salehi also stated that currently 1,000 megawatts of nuclear electricity are produced in Iran, and added: "Two more power plants are under construction to produce 2,000 megawatts, which will be operational in the next seven years."

He reiterated that Iran has no insistence on and no rush for the US to return to JCPOA, and that its rational demand is the lifting of sanctions.
