She said in an exclusive interview with ILNA that Iran is a safe country that needs to be introduced to tourists, so it is necessary to set up tourist information offices in China and introduce Iran's attractions.
Siqin Shen whom is her job is to sell tickets to the Chinese to travel to Iran and has traveled to Iran more than five times, added “Iran and Iranians are so different from what we would expect based on things we heard.”
“The international media has always depicted Iran in critical condition. The Chinese people's biggest concern is security.”
The sales managers said “It can be concluded that there is a policy behind the broadcasting of such negative news about Iran.”
She pointed to the importance of attending in international fairs for tourism development and adding “Unfortunately, Iranian tourism activists who participate in Travel & Tourism fairs in China and other countries have no active presence in these exhibitions.”
“Another problem is that we are not able to book online for hotels, restaurants, trains and buses. When we are in China we cannot get accurate information about Iranian hotels and transportation system.”
Siqin Shen said “There are also problems with the tourist guide; because of their small number, the price is very high and it is very expensive for us,” stressing that that is why many Chinese tourists try to travel to Iran as a group.
“Hormuz Island, Kish Island and the southern cities of Iran also have great potential to attract Chinese tourists. The Chinese be acquainted with these destinations but they don't know how they can travel to these destinations.”
Mahan Air sales managers in China said at the end that one of the most fascinating parts of traveling to Iran for the Chinese is getting acquainted with Iranian culture and customs.
