EIA: Iran’s oil output surpasses 3.8 mb/d
Iran’s crude oil output (excluding condensates) reached 3.83 million barrels per day (mb/d) in the third quarter of 2017, compared to 3.81 mb/d in the second quarter of 2017, the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) said.
Iran was the third crude producer among the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) in the period, after Saudi Arabia and Iraq.
The country’s oil output was 3.57 mb/d in 2016, the report said.
OPEC’s total output in the third quarter of 2017 amounted to 32.89 mb/d, indicating an increase of 570,000 bpd compared to the preceding quarter. OPEC crude oil output averaged 32.68 mb/d in 2016.
The EIA forecasts that OPEC crude oil production will average at 32.46 mb/d in 2017 and 32.71 mb/d in 2018.
Iran's liquid fuels production increased by 300,000 barrels per day to 4.7 mb/d in November 2017 compared to October – November 2016, on average, the EIA said.
The report also said that Iran's liquid fuels consumption for November 2017 was 1.7 mb/d.
