Qeshm Island becomes bunkering hub
Director for Oil and Energy Affairs of Qeshm Free Zone Organization declared that Qeshm Island has turned into Iran's bunkering hub.
'Oil Ministry designated Qeshm Island as bunkering hub of the country for its massive oil reserves of gas and oil, its relative advantages and its strategic location as well as providing peripheral services to commercial and industrial ships in the Southern part of the country,' Mohammad Javad Dehqani told reporters here on Monday night.
He reiterated that this important achievement is part of a comprehensive plan for supplying ships with fuel.
Dehqani said that Iran has suffered major losses in the recent years due to sanctions imposed on cargo and industrial ships and also lack of facilities for presence of vessels for fueling in the country's coasts and coastal waters.
