US allocates $2.7 bln for uranium enrichment in country

The US Department of Energy allocated a total of $2.7 billion to three companies for the development of domestic uranium enrichment facilities.
Funds were allocated for the development of such facilities during the next decade, the department said on its website.
US authorities expect it will strengthen energy security and reduce dependence on foreign suppliers.
