Oman Central Bank CEO to visit Iran

Taher bin Salem al Omari, the CEO of the Central Bank of Oman (CBO), is scheduled to arrive in the capital Tehran on Wednesday afternoon to discuss the development of banking ties with Iran.

According to the Central Bank of Iran, al Omari will hold talks with his Iranian counterpart on Thursday.

The Omani and Iranian sides will discuss the expansion of banking interactions at bilateral and international levels.

Robert Malley, United States Special Representative for Iran, said that Washington is trying to repatriate three Americans arrested in Iran as soon as possible and that this issue is a priority for the Biden administration.

Nournews already reported that the agreements for the swap of Iranian and American prisoners, which had been reached in other countries some months ago, are on the verge of implementation following the United States’ preparation in this respect.

Moreover, Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian has recently said that a consensus with the American party has been reached to act in line with the results of negotiations on the exchange of Iranian and American inmates.

The top diplomat added that the Americans determined their representative from a third country; then, an agreement was reached on how to exchange prisoners around three weeks ago.
