Gas exports are focal point of contention between Russia and Israel: Expert

An expert on the region has said that there are even reports that show that Tel Aviv is seeking to sell weapons to Ukraine by using its influence in Poland.

Hassan Hanizadeh said in remarks to ILNA that “after the Ukraine crisis unfolded,  there were sharp differences between Russia and Israel and the two sides entered political and diplomatic confrontations with each other.”

He pointed to another point of contention between the two sides that pitted them against each other and said that the issue of gas and energy exports is another point of contention. In the current situation, Israel is seeking to be able to meet parts of the Europeans' gas needs.”

“I believe that the conflict between Russia and the Zionist regime will escalate, particularly in the field of energy exports,” Hanizadeh added.

He stressed that the Zionist regime is on the side of NATO in the case of Ukraine, adding there are even reports that show that Tel Aviv is seeking to sell weapons to Ukraine by using its influence in Poland, which could publicly target Russia’s interests.
