Iran and Russia are agreeing to boost maritime transportation in the Caspian Sea by a row-row vessel, said the Managing Director of Iran Ports and Maritime Organization.

Ravanbakhsh Behzadian Said in an exclusive interview with ILNA news agency that Iran Shipping Line Group has negotiations with Russia to purchase a row-row ship and increase its fleet in the Caspian Sea.

A Russian ship is transferring Iran agricultural products from Anzali port to Russia, he indicated.

There are ongoing negotiations about the International North-South Transportation Corridor, he explained.

The INSTC connects Iran's northern and southern ports and increases trade with India via Chabahar and Bandar Abbas ports.

The corridor will boost cargo transit to Central Asian countries and Russia.

There have been negotiations between India and Russia to trade wheat and coal via Iran's route.

Russia's cargo transit to the Persian Gulf states and India requires the completion of the Iran railway corridor.
