“Iran and Iraq has reached a settlement on paying Iran's blocked asset and how to releasing this money is almost solved," the Chairman of the Iran-Iraq Joint Chamber of Commerce told.

Yahya Al-eshaq said in an exclusive interview with ILNA news agency that Iranian minister confirmed that frozen found will be transfer to the account of Iran in Iraq; In fact, this problem is solved and is not insurmountable.

Pointing to the Iranian trade delegation's visit to Iraq, he added that we hope for growing economic relations between Iran and Iraq as a result of this trip.

“The trade between Iraq and Iran increased by 17% over the last 9 months and we hope it will continue to increase until the end of the year."

Referring to this visit, Yahya Al-eshaq stressed that the main obstacle to the expansion of bilateral trade relations with Iraq is the problems of rail transportation, and we are trying to complete the Shalamcheh-Basra railway as soon as possible.

"The movement of trucks and cargo was also facing problems, and this issue is also being resolved. The next issue is the transfer of funds, which is not a big problem for the private sector, but if we can establish banking relations, the costs will be lower," he added.

Pointing to the negotiations with Iraq over the opening of Iran’s land route to Syria, he said that the issue of transit goods and creating a corridor has a legal problem in Iraq and should be approved by the parliament.
