Cinema Verite to commemorate Orod Attarpour

Concurrent with the second day of the 15th edition of the Iran International Documentary Film Festival also known as “Cinema Verite", the ceremony commemorating an acclaimed cinematic figure, Orod Attarpour will be held in Tehran.

Concurrent with the second day of the 15th edition of the Iran International Documentary Film Festival also known as “Cinema Verite", the ceremony commemorating an acclaimed cinematic figure, Orod Attarpour will be held in Tehran.

Several top cinematic officials including Director of the 15th edition of “Cinema Verite", Mohammad Hamidi-Moqadam, will also attend the commemorating ceremony.

Born in Tehran, Attarpour has directed several works in the field of history and archeology, including the documentaries "History of Commerce", "Ashura in Abyaneh", "Crab Beach", "Parnian", "From Shams to Shams", "  "Persian Gulf", "One Hundred Years of the Municipality", "Persepolis- Chicago and the Black Dream".

Attarpour also produces other works on the subject of history and archeology, such as "I am Dariush", "The Story of a Thousand Years of a City", "Golestan Palace", "Gharqab ", "My House on a Hill", etc.

During his years of activity, Attarpour has been selected by prestigious festivals such as Krakow, Guangzhou, Fajr Film Festival, Cinema, and Cinema Verite and Cinema House.

Opened in Tehran on Dec 9, the festival is slated to be wraped up on Dec 16, 2021.

The Documentary and Experimental Film Centre (DEFC) organizes the annual Iran International Documentary Film Festival.

The festival has several sections including National, International, Martyr Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani Award, Martyr Avini Prize, Special Screenings, Portrait, Mirror of a festival, Focus on a country, Panorama, Workshop, and Doc Market.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the major Iranian international festival for documentary films are being held with a limited number of guests and audience at Tehran’s Charsu Cineplex.
