ISIL executing US policies in Syria: Iran general
ILNA: The US and its allies are pursuing some ulterior motives in their attacks against the Takfiri ISIL militants in Syria, says an Iranian commander.
“This terrorist group(ISIL) is implementing the US policies, ” said Commander of the Basij Force Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Naqdi, adding that the ISIL is the handiwork of the US and the West.
The ISIL Takfiri terrorists currently control parts of Syria and Iraq. They have threatened all communities, including Shias, Sunnis, Kurds, Christians, Izadi Kurds and others, as they continue their atrocities in Iraq.
“The US and the anti - ISIL coalition are pursuing alternative goals under the pretext of attacking the ISIL terrorist group, ” the commander said, adding they “aim to damage Syria’s infrastructure. ”
The US and its allies, including Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Jordan, have been conducting airstrikes against the ISIL inside Syria since September ۲۲, without any authorization from Damascus or a UN mandate.
The airstrikes are an extension of the US - led aerial campaign against ISIL positions in Iraq.
“By creating the ISIL, the US aims to sow the seeds of discord in the Muslim community, portray a violent picture of Islam and justify the presence of superpowers in the[Middle East] region, ” Naqdi said.
Washington has been supporting the militants operating against the government in Syria since March ۲۰۱۱. Many ISIL terrorists have reportedly received training by the CIA in Jordan and Turkey.
