Iran and Russia to cooperate in nuclear technology

Deputy Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI), Behrouz Kamalvandi, and the head and deputy head of Rosatom company of Russia in separate meetings in Moscow on Tuesday discussed Iran-Russia cooperation in nuclear technology.

Chief Executive Officer of Rosatom, Alexey Likhachev, and Kamalvandi on Tuesday reviewed diversified issues, including cooperation between Tehran and Moscow in implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), the construction process of two new nuclear power plants by Russia in Bushehr in southern Iran, and cooperation in Fordu nuclear site.

Earlier in the day, Kamalvandi met with Nikolai Spassky, the Deputy Chief Executive Officer for International Relations at Rosatom, discussing various aspects of the Iran-Russia nuclear cooperation.

Kamalvandi's visit to Moscow comes on the one-year anniversary of the implementation of Iran nuclear deal – known as JCPOA.
