Iran steel output exceeds 1.4m tons

ILNA: The World Steel Association(WSA) put Iran’s raw steel production during November 2014 at 1.45m tons.

In its latest report, the WSA said that the figure indicates a ۶.۱ - percent growth compared with the corresponding figure of last year, which was ۱.۳۷m tons, IMIDRO reported.

It announced that the country still holds its former rank as the world’s ۱۴th steel producer.

The association put Iran’s ۱۱ - month steel output in ۲۰۱۴ at ۱۴.۹۶m tons, up by ۶.۴ percent year - on - year, which was ۱۴.۰۷m tons.

WSA estimated that total raw steel output of ۶۵ countries in the same period amounted to ۱.۴۹b tons, showing a ۱.۸ - percent increase year - on - year.

In ۲۰۱۳, the figure reached ۱.۴۷b tons.

According to the WSA report, the world’s top ۱۰ steel producers in November included China(۶۳.۳m tons), Japan(۹.۱۷۵m tons), the US(۷.۲m tons), India(۶.۸۹m tons), South Korea(۵.۹۱۱), Russia(۵.۸۴m tons), Germany(۳.۵۹m tons), Turkey(۲.۷۹m tons), Brazil(۲.۷۷m tons) and Taiwan(۱.۹m tons).
