5 missing in Azerbaijan province flooding; Salimi tells ILNA

Iranian Red Crescent Society, says 5 are still missing in the floods of Azerbaijan.

"Morteza Salimi", Head of Iranian Red Crescent Society’s Search and Rescue organization in his interview with ILNA, describing the latest situation of flood victims in recent flooding in the country’s 7 Provinces (Eastern and Western Azerbaijan, Kurdistan, Kermanshah, Qazvin, Zanjan and Mazandaran) told: "5100 Rescue team members were dispatched to 52 cities and villages." 

Salimi added: "410 people were provided with emergency settlement, while 16 were sent to safe regions and 8 others also transferred to treatment centers." 

Top aid official emphasized that according to the latest Red Crescent Society, 41 was reported to be dead.

He underscored that 5 is reported to be missing. According to the authority, 4 of the missings belonged to Azarshahr city while 1 was from Ajabshir.

"Water was removed from 268 houses and 44 vehicles were displaced from flood paths. 87 aid teams which include 442 rescue workers are helping out the flood victims in these areas" he stressed.

Salimi at the end underlined that the search and rescue operation is followed diligently in these place.
