Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif reacted to the speech made by the US President Donald Trump on his new strategy towards Iran calling his claims as 'inane' and stressing that such statemetns will never frighten Iranians.

'Allegations, threats & profanity will never intimidate Iranians. Trump will eventually discover this; as every predecessor did,' Zarif said in one of his four Twitter messages released hours after Trump's speech.

'No wonder supporters of Trump’s inane Iran speech are those bastions of democracy in the Persian Gulf: KSA, UAE & Bahrain,' he said in another message.

'Everyone knew Trump’s friendship was for sale to the highest bidder. We now know that his geography is too,' Zarif said ironically referring to Trump's speech where he intentionally distorted the name of the Persian Gulf.

Zarif went on to say, 'For the definition of rogue, compare Trump’s words with President Rouhani’s response.'

US President Donald Trump on Friday took a new strategy toward Iran and did not certify Tehran's commitment with the 2015 landmark nuclear deal known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

Trump's approach has been criticized by many countries, international bodies, political communities and world media.

'Iran nuclear deal is not a bilateral accord and it belongs to no country and no country is able to terminate it,' High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini said minutes after Trump's speech on Friday.
