German State Secretary to the Federal Foreign Office Markus Ederer said that his country upholds nuclear deal reached between Iran and 5+1 Group and has always underlined the need for all parties to observe the articles of the accord.

Ederer made the remarks in a meeting with Chairman of Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi late on Saturday.

He expressed pleasure over his visit to Tehran, saying that Germany has always welcomed further friendly ties with Iran in different fields, particularly parliamentary relations.

Berlin and Tehran have common views on certain regional issues such as fighting terrorism and solving regional crises in cooperation with neighbors, he said.

Referring to developments in Syria and Yemen, he said that like Iran, Germany underlines the need for diplomatic solutions and negotiation between the conflicting parties.

Stressing the need for promoting political, economic, cultural and parliamentary relations between the two countries, Ederer said that exchanging parliamentary delegations plays a significant role in mutual understanding.

Boroujerdi, for his part, referred to good relations between the two countries, saying that Iran and Germany boast numerous capacities for boosting relations which should be used in line with strengthening ties.

Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission is keen on promoting bilateral ties, especially in the field of parliamentary relations, he said.

Mutual cooperation between countries plays a crucial role in fighting the evil phenomenon of terrorism and restoring security and calm to the region, he said.

Boroujerdi further noted that unfortunately, certain states with wrong analyses encouraged the US and its allies to pave the way for escalating crises in the region from Syria to Libya.

Pointing to human catastrophes in Yemen and Bahrain, he said that silence of the so-called advocates of human rights against the massacre of innocent people of the two countries is shameful.

Increasing communication and consultation between the two countries’ officials on bilateral, regional and international developments will help strengthen bilateral ties and sustainable security, he said.
