Introducing Cover Candidate depends on Rouhani's decision; Karbaschi tells ILNA
Former Tehran Mayer told ILNA that the president should decide whether he needs cover candidates in upcoming presidential debates.
Regarding the necessity of introducing second candidate (cover candidate) from reformists in presidential campaign and debates time, "Gholamhossein Karbschi", Executives of Construction of Iran Party’s Central council member in his interview with ILNA, argued that there are two theories in this regard: "Some believe that participation of a person for this aim is required, and we should not run for the election individually, while at the same time, some other argue that the measures are not necessary" he underlined.
According to Karbaschi, Rouhani is the one who should figure out and decide.
Regarding whether there have been talks with president on this issue, former Tehran’s Mayer told that he himself didn’t hold any discussion on this matter. "There are those who talked to Rouhani but I’m not aware of the details" he added.
Karbaschi at the end noted that in upcoming presidential debates, supporting candidates might be able to respond to some of the opponent queries and questions and "in this way, Rouhani is not required to bear the weight of the whole debate individually."
