Early campaigning is not allowed; Deputy Interior Minister

Stating that Interior Ministry would firmly push back any attempt in early campaigning and that take those efforts into account when vetting the candidates, “Mahdi Moghimi”, Deputy Interior Minister after paying a formal visit to Tehran’s City Council’s election office informed the public that process of registration is underway throughout the country with the massive participation of candidates and is now in its final days.

“Election campaigns can be kicked off, 8 days before the election and would run until a day before it” top Interior Ministry Official told, adding that otherwise the candidates would face the ministry measures in confronting those who violate election regulations.

“The supporters should note that campaigns are limited to the mentioned one week and further activity is not allowed” he stressed.

Moghimi, expressed satisfaction with the ongoing process of registration and told that with the measures that have been taken, the registration processes is going on very well.
