Forming executive commissions for City and Villages Councils elections begins soon; Head of Iran's Election Office tells ILNA

Head of Iran's Election Office announced the end of registration period for prospective parliamentary candidates in midterm election.

"Aliasghar Ahmadi", Head of Iran's Election Office in an interview with ILNA correspondent announced that registration of prospective parliamentary candidates in midterm election which had been kicked off on 8th Esfand, has been concluded and the executive commissions are in the process of qualification and vetting those who are running for the elections.

Regarding the registration timing of City and Village Councils of Iran, the top Interior Ministry official told that the registration process for the candidates will kick off from 30th of Esfand and it will take 7 days.

Ahmadi also announced that, the state (provincial) and county officials would form their execution commissions soon.

Head of Iran's election office emphasized that those who are interested in running for the parliamentary seat should get their legal clearance certificate.

“Due to the constitution, getting a legal clearance certificate for the candidates are compulsory and it should be submitted” he added.
