Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said on Wednesday that Iran will continue supporting the Syrian people until their final victory.
He made the remarks in a meeting with the Syrian Parliament Speaker Hadiya Khalaf Abbas.
The meeting was held on the sidelines of the 6th International Conference in Support of the Palestinian Intifada that started here on Tuesday for two days.
The reason behind pressures on Syria is the country’s presence in the forefront of resistance, Rouhani noted.
The President congratulated Syrian people’s recent victories over terrorists and said, “We are witnessing positive developments in Syria in recent months in such a way that several countries have changed their positions towards Syria.”
Iran supports the ongoing talks between Syrian government and the opposition and the country’s fight against terrorism, he added.
The President noted that Syrian people are in a very difficult situation.
One of the reasons behind pressures on Syria is the country’s support for the Palestinians’ ideals, he added.
Rouhani said that establishment of peace and stability in Syria is in the interest of both the region and the Palestinian people.
'Palestine is the most important issue of the Islamic World and we hope that this conference will help resolution of the regional issues,' the President added.
