Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs Abbas Araqchi said here Wednesday that the nuclear deal, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), made a fundamental change in Iran's international conditions.

At a local meeting, Araqchi said that the Islamic Republic of Iran can play an effective role in the region as it has now turned into a player that can have more constructive and active role in the international arenas after the JCPOA.

At present, the UN Security Council recognizes Iran's constructive role in bringing peace and security to Syria, this is while Iran had been introduced as a regional threat before the 2015 nuclear deal, he stressed.

The anti-Iran resolutions issued by the UNSC following the claims that Iran's peaceful nuclear activities were dangerous, all were removed totally after the JCPOA and the UNSC adopted the Resolution 2231 on Iran and recognized the country's nuclear program, Araqchi noted.

According to Araqchi, the UNSC resolutions against Iran called on all countries not to cooperate with Iran, not let the Iranian students study in other states, and asked for closure of Arak and Fordo sites.
