Iranian FM condemns deadly terror attack on Istanbul airport

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif has condemned last night’s deadly terror attack on an international airport in Turkey.

In a message posted on his Twitter account, Zarif called for unity against terrorism.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qassemi also condemned the terrorist action and voiced Iran’s condolences to the Turkish government and nation on the inhuman crime which claimed lives of a large number of innocent peole.

He also voiced sympathy with the bereaved families of the victims.

Qassemi went on to stress that extremism and terrorism knew no borders.

He said as the Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif had already highlighted, a collective international determination is needed to fight the evil phenomenon.

He once again stressed Iran’s readiness to cooperate with regional countries in uprooting the dangerous trend of terrorism.

In a tweet posted early Wednesday morning, Zarif condemned terrorist attack on Ataturk International Airport in Turkey which according to reports killed at least 36 people and injured 147 others.

Three deadly explosions rocked Ataturk International Airport in Istanbul on Tuesday evening.

No group or individual has so far claimed responsibility for the terrorist attack.
