Zarif leaves Vienna for Tehran

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif left Vienna for Tehran on Tuesday midnight.

Zarif who travelled to Vienna on Monday to attend the international contact group's meeting on Syria wrapped up his visit to the European country after attending the meeting and holding talks with several of his foreign counterparts.

Upon his arrival in Vienna, Zarif met EU Foreign Policy Chief Federica Mogherini, his Australian counterpart Julie Bishop and UN Special Envoy on Syria Staffan de Mistura.

On Tuesday, Zarif met his Syrian and British counterparts on the sidelines of the international contact group's meeting. Later on, Zarif met his US counterpart John Kerry and they discussed the removal of obstacles hindering the implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
