Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic is to visit Iran on April 17.
Nikolic is to meet with President Rouhani as well as Vice-President for Scientific and Technology Affairs Sorena Sattari.
President Nikolic will attend the opening ceremony of the 5th Symposium of World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies in Tehran on April 17-22, 2016.
Expansion of friendly relations between Belgrade and Tehran as well as development of cooperation are on agenda of the two governments and visit of President Nikolic to Iran and meeting with his Iranian counterpart President Hassan Rouhani underlines consolidation of friendly ties in different areas.
Visits of first deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade, Tourism and Communication Rasim Ljajic, Minister of Education, Sciences and Development of Technology Srdan Verbic and President of the National Assembly of Serbia Maja Gojkovic to Iran last year indicated resolve of both countries to expand ties and bilateral cooperation in different fields.
Iran-Serbia joint economic commission held in Tehran last year led to signing agreements on tourism and participation of public and private sectors in the third party markets.
Meanwhile, the 15th joint economic commission meeting will be held in Belgrade in the current year.
The two countries have expressed their interests in cooperation in other fields like agriculture, automobile industry, pharmacology, petrochemical industry, culture and sport.
' Iran Trade Center in the Balkans' in Belgrade is due to start its activity soon.
Serbia was the founding member of Non-Aligned Movement. The republic is currently an observer member of NAM and has good relations with other members.
