Foreign airplanes consume 10% of distributed fuel

ILNA: In the first seven months of the current year(started March 21) some 913 million liters of fuel were provided to both Iranian and foreign passenger airlines.

Ali Harandi, head of the Civil Aviation Refueling Department said the non - stop refueling of airlines with an aim of transporting passengers properly to different parts of Iran and the world is a top priority. He put the increase in delivering fuel to the airlines in the first seven months of the year at ۷۴ million liters.

He said ۱۲۸ million liters of the total fuel delivered to passenger airlines belongs to the month of Mehr(September / October), showing an increase of ۸ million liters as compared to the same period last year.

Harandi further remarked that by delivering this amount of fuel to the airlines, ۱۶,۹۵۳ passenger airplane carried Iranian and foreign passengers, adding that the amount of fuel delivered to airlines in the same month last year was ۱۲۹ million liters which was used in over ۱۶ flights.

Among domestic airlines, Iran Air has received the highest amount of fuel.

On average, about ۱۰% of the total fuel provided to airlines in the first half of the current year has been delivered to foreign airlines.

However, despite regular delivery of fuel to domestic planes, airlines refrain from paying their dues.
