ILNA: Iran has kept it contact with the European customers of its crude oil even after the international sanctions were imposed on the country’s oil sector.
National Iranian Oil Company’s Director for International Affairs Seyyed Mohsen Qamsari said on Nov. ۲۱ that once the sanctions are lifted, Iran can increase its oil exports to a reasonable figure in three months, Iran’s IRNA News Agency reported Nov. ۲۱.
He went on to note that Iran has not held any negotiations with its Asian costumers for a possible increase in oil exports.
Oil Minister Bijan Zanganeh said on Nov. ۲۰ that Iran will double its oil exports within two months if sanctions against it end, IRNA reported.
According to Reuters, Iran currently exports around ۱.۳ million barrels per day(bpd) of oil.
At OPEC’s June meeting Zanganeh said Iran could increase oil exports by ۵۰۰,۰۰۰ bpd immediately after any lifting of sanctions and could pump ۴ million bpd in less than three months after.
