Terrorists Kill 4 Police Officers in Eastern Iran

ILNA: Four Iranian police officers were killed in attacks by terrorist groups in the eastern town of Saravan, near the border with Pakistan.

A car bomb attack on a police station in the border city left one police officer dead and three others injured on Thursday morning, said Hedayatollah Mir Moradzehi, who represents the eastern city of Saravan at the Iranian parliament.

The attack came a day after three other police forces were killed in a separate terrorist attack in the city.

“About ۷ p. m.(local time) a fight was reported to the police and three police officers were dispatched to the area but it was a trap. Unfortunately, all three officers were shot dead in the place. The terrorists ran away after a group of Iranian police officers rushed to the area, ” the Iranian lawmaker told the Tasnim News Agency about Wednesady attack.

Asked about a statement by the Jaish - ul - Adl terrorist group which claimed responsibility for the deadly attacks, Mir Moradzehi said there has been no official confirmation yet.

The Pakistani - based group has already carried out terrorist activities in the area.

Back in February, the terrorist group abducted five Iranian border guards in Jakigour region in Sistan and Balouchestan Province and took them to Pakistan.

Later on April ۶ and following special diplomatic efforts by the Iranian officials, four of the five abductees were released and returned home after being held hostage for two months. The fate of the fifth soldier is still unknown.
